Clean a Sink P-Trap - Quick DIY Guide

1. Place a Bucket Underneath
Catch water and gunk from the pipe.

2. Loosen the Slip Nuts
Use tongue-and-groove pliers to loosen the two nuts on each side of the P-trap.

3. Remove the P-Trap
Pull it off gently and dump out the debris.

4. Clean the Trap
Scrub the inside with a bottle brush and rinse thoroughly.

5. Reattach the P-Trap
Put it back in place and re-tighten the slip nuts by hand, then snug with pliers.
